This is because that we set the idle time limit of the irc. If you did
nothing during a long time,the server would shut down the connection.

Why? IRC folks today usually use screen to hang out (or to lurk) in
many rooms in a 24x7 fashion (so as to keep logs or just keep an eye
or etc etc etc).

I believe such restriction can be considered antisocial. I've never
seen such limitations in other IRC servers like irc.freenode.org,
irc.mozilla.org, irc.perl.org, irc.ubuntu.com, among others. Well,
feel free to prove me wrong ;)

I agree with you, honestly, we don't know IRC well until now, and we are
improving it, if possible, please give us some patch about the IRC
config, and Qingran is responsible for the IRC service now.
