哲思沙龙第10期：没什么比学习英语更容易了

我们不想过多强调英语对于IT行业的重要性，因为那显得很多余，毕竟计算机的母语就是英语。如论是想和一位你崇拜的但是讲英语的牛人交流、参与某国际自由软件项目邮件列表的讨论、阅读Linux的技术文档、还是撰写一份英文简历，你都需要良好的英文基础或素养。

是的，在这个时候没人在意你是否通过了CET－4／6，因为这只是个不着4、6的考试。人类学习语言的目的在于交流，而不是考试；在于能够听、说、读和写。

能看懂这个活动描述的人们请注意，你已经掌握了地球上最难以学习的语言之一，汉语，虽然你还没有通过某个汉语考试。事实上，学习语言是程序员的拿手好戏，因为你不但要和人类打交道，你甚至还要和机器对话，所以你不但要学习自然语言，还好学习该死的机器语言。

对于一个已经掌握了汉语、C/C++、Python、Shell、Java、PHP、JavaScript等语言的你来说，没什么比学习英语更容易的了！

Experience Summary

19 years of work experience in education, telecommunications and shipping holding various positions in marketing and general management.

Business Experience

April 1997 – 2007 Deputy Director/Deputy General Manager, China Maritime Service Centre/Huayang Maritime Centre. Was responsible for marketing and operation of crew manning services, i.e. selecting, recruiting, training and providing qualified Chinese seafarers for foreign ship owners and managers; Attended many international conferences on behalf of the crewing industry in China.

May 1995 – April 1997 Personal Advisor and Simultaneous Interpreter to the Chinese Board Member of ICO Global. Attended Board meetings with international shareholders for a US$2 billion company in the capacity of personal advisor and interpreter for the Chinese board member; attended FDP (Franchise Development Programme) meetings of ICO Global as a shareholder representative;

August 1993 – April 1995 Assistant to Chief Representative of Inmarsat China Resident Office. Was responsible for the administrative and accounting affairs of the Office; trained for 2 months in London.

Training and Teaching Experience

August 2007 – Present Started up own training and consultancy company – Beijing Glory Times Education Service Company Limited (GTE) in 2007 and have been the leading trainer of English for GTE.

July 1990 – July 1993 Taught the subject of English in the Department of International Economic Cooperation in Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute. Main courses taught included Intensive and Extensive English Reading, Writing and Listening; worked as a part-time interpreter in the Production Office of the State Council.
