Celebrate with us!

As our download counter shows, we're getting close to the 1 billionth download of Firefox. That's a huge milestone. And a reason to celebrate.

We want to show everyone how global and diverse our community has become. So we're asking for photos of you, our community members, to display on our Billion Downloads campaign page. We'll be launching the campaign site soon, but we want to have lots of photos ready for the launch.

There are tons of wonderful things about Mozillians and the greater Web. Just like there are many great wonders of the world . That's why we're asking you to take photos of yourself at wonderful places near you.

How you can get involved:

Your task is to take a picture of yourself proudly sporting Firefox apparel (t-shirt, hat, etc) or poster. You can go to a famous landmark, your favorite place nearby, or anywhere you think will make for a great photo.

We've created some celebration posters for you to use in your pictures. Print out one of these designs or design your own.

Once you have your photos ready to submit, email them to fxbillion@mozilla.com by July 31st. Please send your photos in .png or .jpg format and at least 1024x768 pixels in size.

What we're looking for:

We talked to our photo experts and they've given us some great tips for taking quality pictures. Here's what they said:

• It's all about balance: we want to see you and your location prominently displayed in the picture, so don't let one of them dominate the photo. And we should clearly see your Firefox aparrel or poster too.
• Keep it sharp: check to make sure everything is in focus. You and your background. No one likes a blurry photo.
• Enlighten us: Lighting can be tricky, and it can easily make your break your photo's appeal. For outdoor shots, face the sun so you can avoid shadows on your face.

Our photo experts also shared some examples--good and bad--to help you out. Use them for inspiration and learn from their mistakes too.
